How do I know if The Holy Spirit is Inviting Me into Something?
The difference between the devil and the Spirit in Luke 4.1-15 and how this might help us better understand how we can hear God's leading here and now.
Imagine for a moment that you could snap your fingers and have enough money to change your life, or the lives of others. Imagine you could gain access to the kind of resources and power that could change history at your discretion. Would you do it?
In some sense, I think each of us probably has this inkling every now and again. It’s hard not to think, “I could do ____ better,” especially when the world is on fire. It’s hard to not look at pain, loss, inequality, and cruelty and not imagine that if only you were in charge, if only you could snap your fingers, you could make things right. It sounds arrogant typed here, but I think it’s also just part of being human. We are made to imagine, I suppose.
Now, imagine that if you just took what you needed, you could make that change. What if it cost one life? Or the life of someone deplorable? What about if you had to use back channels to make the changes you needed to in order to realize your vision. Would you do it?
